Pullet Rearing

Pullet Rearing

The health and welfare of our pullets is vitally important to us.  We rear our birds on sites that receive continued development based on bird performance and management.  This ensures that we have excellent bird development and biosecurity.  Our pullets are produced under the highest welfare standard that is assured and monitored by Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme, Freedom Foods (RSPCA) and the British Lion Code.

Our trained staff make regular visits to all rearing sheds where birds are monitored for performance, welfare and biosecurity on a regular basis, with key advice and guidance from veterinary practitioners to keep a pro-active approach to bird health, well-being & performance.

We work closely with customers and veterinary practitioners to ensure birds are vaccinated against prevalent diseases that can impact the bird both during and post rearing.  This is carried out to a pre-ordained vaccination programme determined by our veterinary consultants.

Our stock is regularly weighed, to ensure good growth and development. Together with our nutritionist, we specify our own feed formulation to meet our specific feed plan throughout rear.  We work closely with our feed providers to ensure excellent quality materials are used to ensure optimum development of the birds.  We continually monitor for disease through veterinary visits and dust sampling that happens at routine intervals.

Customer Back Up

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. After the birds are transferred to our customer’s site, we make pre-arranged visits to their site in order to further monitor the bird’s growth and development. With our customer’s permission, we normally make a number of visits to the site and there after we keep in contact with our customer’s in an advisory and helpful capacity. We want to ensure that our customer’s achieve the best possible results.

Produces a bird for colony laying system that enhances their productivity and supports the long-term health of the bird. We also provide perching in rearing, to ensure that birds can move freely in their new homes.

PLatform reared

Pullets are supplied to free range, barn and colony systems. We have invested in the majority of our rearing house so that our birds are fit for any laying system. We also provide perch/platform to ensure that birds can move freely in their laying environment and can adapt quickly to the onset of lay.

Multi-tier reared

Pullets are supplied to free range, barn and aviary systems. We have invested heavily in the rearing of our birds, now using the Flex Raise from LANDMECO a multi-tier system. It produces a highly adaptable bird for any laying system that enhances their productivity and supports the long-term health of the bird. It provides excess perch/platforms at multiple levels to give the bird maximum ability to climb and grow. This ensures that birds are extremely adaptive to their new laying environment and can help move quickly to the onset of lay and higher levels of production.
